A friend of mine looked like he swapped places with a cooked lobster. Do you call that fun? He said, “You don’t understand; that was my goal. It was my good first burn of the season.” We could all think of (to quote Hermione Granger), “What an idiot.” He was in a meeting four days later with all of us. He already had a six-pack and now looks like a tan God.

Back in the real world, we’re with the Las Vegas crowd. In 2003 and 2004, we fell in love with Las Vegas. Business brought us here once a month. It was always magical. We drove up on Thursday night and drove back on Monday morning. The crowd stayed at a different hotel every time we went. It wasn’t long before we realized it felt like just one long vacation. We moved on from these wonderful mini-vacations in 2014.

After that experience, our objective was to find a large two-story home with a small front yard and a large backyard. We wanted at least one-quarter acre or more. Our goal was to make our backyard as restful and peaceful as a hotel property. We especially wanted our international friends to feel like they were on vacation. We also wanted at…
