Sometimes, though, it is real, and that scares me even more

You are correct. The Pandemic has been a fear, and for others, they’ve been fearless. The worst-case scenario is death. I’m guessing here, but I’m betting that nearly everyone living knows someone that COVID-19 has taken.

My wife and I don’t fear COVID-19 or even the new variant, Omicron, and BA.5. We have a device that kills those germs that make their way into our home. However, there is still that fear when we’re out and about.

Others are aware, and we’re now seeing increased use of masks.

But my single biggest fear is that of losing my wife, Margaret. We found each other when she was 39, and I was a month shy of being 49. I’ve promised her I will not go before her. Her mother lived to be 87, and her father 92. Yes, I realize I may not be able to keep that promise, but I’m trying to with every fiber of my being. I have 24 more years to enjoy life with my bride. She inspires me and refreshes my soul whenever we’re together.
