Everyone arrives somewhere or at some age when they can hear the voice of others in their head shouting “don't _____.” You fill in the blank. Or, we arrive at a crossroads where we don't know what to do next.

May I suggest that you give yourself permission?

Someone once gave me permission to____ (what it was is of no importance). Giving yourself permission is the key.

Let's look at just some of the things where giving yourself permission can be used:

  • To speak to that interesting man or woman at the coffee shop
  • Dress appropriately, according to your standards
  • To be poor, middle class, wealthy, or wherever you want to place yourself
  • To be YOU— it helps to remember that everyone else is taken

You're probably beginning to get the idea. Our subconscious holds us back because of what we've seen, heard, or read.

When I was a young man, without formal education or training, a friend passed me a magazine I respected. He said, "Which of these people are you?”
