Hello Yana,

It’s unfortunate that prejudice exists in every race and every part of the world. It probably stems from the fact that if someone doesn’t look exactly like we do and they don’t understand that person.

As a white person I grew up in an area that was all Hispanic until I was in the sixth grade. In the seventh grade I grew up in an area that was all African-American. In high school prejudiced existed as a result of religion and race. This is only to allow me to say that I understand some piece of the racial puzzle.

I can tell you as a senior citizen that even among seniors there is prejudice. There’s also prejudice for age. So the concept of being free of prejudice is probably never going to exist in this century or perhaps even the next. In my view, what can continue to exist is LOVE.

thank you for sharing a portion of your story. It’s my hope, people will get something from this that serves as a people we all deserve to exist and to enjoy life whoever or wherever we happen to be.

Thanks again,
DR
