Perhaps differently now

We sit, contemplate, and drudge up our past, and we must ask ourselves, what good does that do?

Our past is just that, our past. We can not change it; we can not relive it.

I was in a motivational seminar when I was nearly forty-five years old. I had been single for some time. Prior to attending this two-day seminar, the lonely nights were taking their toll on me.

Then this speaker stood up, and the first words out of his mouth were:

DO NOT let the past hold the future hostage!

After hearing that, I was ready to leave the seminar. In one small sentence, he had just given me more wisdom than I received in the previous day's lecture. I’ve seen this attributed to LL Cool J and several others. It doesn’t matter because the wisdom is spot on. When I internalized this and forgave myself for serious judgment and decision-making errors, I grew again as a person. Finding my true love that also believed this made it more important to me.

If you’re truly interested in refreshing your soul, this will absolutely get you on the right path.
