THURSDAY THOUGHTS

I Have All These Thoughts

What if I lose them? They’re really good.

The book of ideas and other thoughts.

Over the years, I’ve met men and women that tell me “I can’t turn it off.”
They are, of course, talking about their brain. Their brains are thinking and coming up with new ideas all the time. “How do I turn it off?” they ask.

The first thing you need to know is that you can’t. You can be in the moment (that you define).

Let’s say I’m out with my wife and we’re having dinner. You’re still having thoughts. If you train yourself to be in the moment you define, you’ll be thinking about him or her exclusively. Thoughts of something else, like business, are for another time.

Have you ever met someone for the first time and, to your surprise, they’re speaking to you as if you’re the only person around? They are focused on you. You are important to this person. What is equally important is that you know and feel that it’s all about you.

Training Your Brain

This is kin to fighting an alligator with one hand tied behind your back. The only way you’ll be successful is if YOU set the rules.
