In Sickness & In Health

You know the rest, or do you?

While shopping with my wife, I noticed many people like myself, an older man and a younger woman.

Suddenly, my heart beat when up 10 points. Thank you, iPhone. But it reminded me of the love and gratitude for a wife despite a hip replacement. She kept on keeping on, helping me with a severe injury.

Wives, husbands, lovers, companions, and partners sometimes forget to acknowledge gratitude for the simplest things one does for the other. One or both may have gained weight or grown bald, but looking into their eyes, I’m sure I could see their eyes transforming and becoming heart-shaped.

And sometimes we ask ourselves, why am I still here? It’s because of the love you give them that refreshes the soul.
