A small portion of the Author’s backyard

We’re planners, so when we knew we were going to retire in 2014, we started looking for our home in 2004. We wanted land. We had land in Orange County, CA, so we wanted it here in Henderson, NV. The only other requirement was that the home was large enough so that all six kids and their fifteen grandchildren could spend time together in our home.

I mention this because we wanted to retire with a steady income and in a place where we didn’t have to leave. We wanted to have a place where we didn’t have to do anything if we didn’t want to. My wife is into holidays and decorates our home for most of them. The picture is of our backyard at Christmas. We typically have over 200 visitors at Christmas (Click here to see our home at Christmas).

We plan to spend more time in our backyard when we feel like a vacation.

If money were no object, we wouldn’t do anything different.
