My best friend, and Ortho begged me to go into healthcare. I had just left my position as CEO of an international oil company. In Bakersfield, CA he has lost half his business to the economy because oil and Ag were down.

So in an effort to help him and his friends, I created the first PPO in central California and sold it to healthnet just a few months later. We had over 570 doctors, and 5 of the 7 hospitals in the region.

A year later 4 Chiropractors and me created the first Chiropractic HMO in the U.S. The Stuntmen's Union were our first client.

We did some other things but that was more fun than legally allowable.
