And, no new notifications.

O.K. Now what?

How many of us find ourselves in this position? Very often? Probably not. So many of us never delete emails or at least unimportant emails. Where are your Medium notifications? Wait, I know. I do know the answer to that one. The answer is one of four things:

  • I neglected to write . . . something.
  • Yours or my story wasn’t engaging enough to give even one clap to say, “I've read it; there’s a clap.”
  • Medium’s notification system is not working [again].
  • Oh, wait, I am not writing enough on Medium or to friends, family, or anyone.

Writing, writing, and more writing.

Feeling depressed, write

Feeling anxious, write

Feeling like a third wheel, write

Feeling suspicious, write

Feeling angry? Let it all out, write

If you have a message and don’t know how to say it, write

You don’t have to tell the world, but you must write it down in a journal, a random slip of paper, toilet paper, or a napkin. It doesn’t matter. It’s like telling someone only they’ll never criticize, get mad, call you names, or ever speak of it again. If you’re still worried that a journal will give you up, hide or eliminate that effort.

No one ever said that everything has to be published because you’re a writer. IT DOESN’T.

Most of us are blessed to be able to see, read or listen to someone’s writing or ramblings. COMMUNICATION: sending a message and then having it be understood by those intended is a blessing. How many of us fail to understand the importance of COMMUNICATION in any form?
