THURSDAY THOUGHTS
Perhaps We Should Recognize The Why
As writers, we’ve helped ourselves and others
Recently Kristina God listed five things writers should stop doing now. One of them was looking for praise from fellow writers.
As a new writer on this forum, I’m not looking for praise. Please don’t misunderstand me. I’ll take the praise. More important to me is that someone comments:
- Interesting point (I now know I’ve said something that caused the reader to think)
- I’ve never seen it like that (I’ve given the readers a chance to think outside their own box)
- A direct question (Why did it have to happen like that?)
- I didn’t know that (Just because I write doesn’t mean I know everything (prompts a discussion from the reader)
Until I reached this age, I never understood why people of a certain age feel the knowledge they have is worthless. Here’s another way to look at it:
You’re traveling down a distant road when suddenly you see something on the road where it could affect someone else. What do I do? Every fiber of my being says, HELP THEM.
What do we think is so important that everyone should want to know it? I believe one or more of your life experiences may help someone else. Now, is it worth sharing?
