Perspective: What You Think is Important Might Need to Be Seen Through a New Lens
The sun came up again. That’s how we know there will be change.
Change is occurring at a phenomenal rate. It’s hard to soak it all in. So, by a show of hands, how many of you hate change? I see.
Let me ask a follow-up question, “How many of you like your cell phone? Really?
How could I possibly be so wrong? It appears we now have empirical evidence that we do like and appreciate change.
By the way, those of you that disagree, and have a cell phone, please leave it by the garbage disposal before you leave for school or work.
Now that we understand the personal nature of change . . .
Let me share a story about personal change.
A client physician secured a new partner. He moved from New York to the San Fernando Valley in Southern California. The young man was 34 years old. He graduated from medical school at 16. He went on to become a teaching intern and teaching fellow in the anatomical area of hands, back, and neck. He was double-boarded in both Neurology and Orthopedics.
