Week 14–20 November Writing Prompt
Self-Service vs. Service to Others
Do you live for just you?
Have you ever experienced pure chaos? Perhaps you have been in a place where the music overshadowed everything? Or, how about this: You were so angry at someone for what happened that you couldn't recall how you behaved?
Regardless, people aren't listening to you when you feel the circumstance is overwhelming! In some cases, you may be right. It may not even be their fault. It doesn't matter. WE ALL WANT TO BE HEARD.
Once upon a time, when I wore a very young man's clothing, my first wife told me that all I did was use people. She said, "You don't listen to me, the kids, or your friends (what was left of them)." She said, "You can't keep pissing people off and expect your words and actions will benefit you or someone else."
Fortunately, my prayers for a solution were answered. I secured a consulting client that was in real trouble. After listening to the issues, I moved into the customer service department. Yelp and others weren't passing out stars for reviews then. The company's product and customer service department would have received less than two stars (in my opinion) if they had.
