THURSDAY THOUGHTS
Thoughts Can Help Make Us Better Friends
If you add thinking about what to wear, it can also help
What people think about us matters to others and those who know you.
My wife and I used to have date nights at Disneyland when we only lived five minutes away. We enjoyed watching people’s visual representations. We concluded people were so excited to be going to Disneyland that they forgot to look in the mirror before they walked out of the door. That’s O.K. (of course). We weren’t judging as much as trying to understand this unique phenomenon.
This is also true verbally. I’m confident we’ve all been somewhere where one or many were speaking on a topic (or two), and their comments made no sense. Why is that? They probably didn’t think the experience and their perspective through before they arrived.
So why are these things important? Like it or not, EVERYONE does exactly what we’re counseled not to do (in the scriptures):
Judge not lest ye be judged. —Matthew 7:1–3
If we know people will judge, and you want the best result from your appearance and participation, why not think it through? The worst that could happen is that you’re better dressed and over-prepared.
